5-17-2022 Chula Vista City Council Meeting

After hearing testimony for about 6 hours, with over 52 citizen speakers,

City council chose to "continue" the issue to a later meeting, after staff has revised proposed ordinances

3-15-2022 Chula Vista Housing Advisory Meeting

There were 19 speakers who spoke in the public comments portion of last night's city council meeting.

11 Spoke in opposition to new eviction protections/TPO

8 spoke in favor of new eviction protections/TPO

No speakers addressed other issues not relating to the TPO.

Additionally, the city clerk received e-comments prior to the meeting, and announced:

38 e-comments were received in opposition to the TPO

34 e-comments were received in support of the TPO

No other e-comments were announced.

The only citycouncil person to speak regarding additional eviction protections /TPO was Mayor Mary Salas

Her points were:

-She was surprised at all the comments for an item that was not on that night's agenda.

-Additional eviction protections/TPO is not scheduled for the city council to take up at any time.

- Those in opposition and support to additional eviction protections and TPO were far apart, and work was needed to bridge the gap.
